Briar, Sweat and Tears, or BST Pipes, are made by Canadian pipemaker Todd Bannard in a small town in Alberta. Known on most pipe forums as Sasquatch, Todd has made a name for himself with fully handmade, quality artisan pipes at exceedingly affordable prices. Todd models his work largely on the classic shaping and finishes of Castello, Dunhill, and countless old marques from when pipe smoking was at its zenith, though he does turn out a freehand shape every so often that rivals work that can cost hundreds of dollars more. His pipes are drilled to perfection, with the airway mechanicals and slot funneling always beyond reproach. His finishes are usually sandblasted with the occasional smooth, and his mouthpieces are made of acrylic (reflective of Todd's deep love of Castellos), or ebonite (plain black or brindle). If you ask him, he'll tell you that his pipes aren't the fanciest out there, but they aren't meant to be - every one of his pipes is simply a damn good smoker. And if you ask anyone that has smoked one of his pipes, they'll agree with you.
